So for the first movie to check off the list, I decided on Clueless. People have been telling me for years that I need to see this movie, so I'm finally sitting down to watch it. I think for movies, I'll give a general opinion at the end, but first, my thoughts during the movie itself.
Thoughts while watching:
What is with that hat?
Learn how to pronounce Haitians!!
I wish getting good grades were actually that simple.
This poor new girl.
90'S MAKEOVER SCENE, YES!!!
Wait, now she's getting mugged?
What's the deal with this Amber chick? I don't get her.
That's NOT how you make cookies. How do you mess up cut and bakes?
Girls don't actually set their exes stuff on fire. No.
This is the cheesiest profession of love scene ever.
How does Mel feel about his daughter and ex-stepson dating? Especially with his whole "You divorce wives, not children" thing.
Closing thoughts:
I'm pretty sure that movie is the most 90's movie that ever happened. It was wonderful. All of the essentials were there - new girl got a makeover, new girl became the most popular thing in school, someone threw up drunk at a party, the new girl gets the guy she liked from the beginning, the main character gets the guy, and they all lived happily ever after. It even ends with a kiss. Wonderful. Would DEFINITELY watch again.

The Origins of this Blog
So you may be asking yourself why I made this blog or what it is. It started during finals week December 2014. I was procrastinating (like most college students), and was watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. I suddenly came to the realization that I had not read many of the books Rory reads, nor had I seen some of the movies Rory and Lorelai watch. I started searching online for lists of movies that everyone should see and books that everyone should read. I soon found that I had not read/seen most of the books/movies on the lists. That's when I decided to make my own lists. A book or movie only made the list if I had not read or seen it but wanted to or felt like I would understand more pop culture references if I had read/seen it.
...20 sticky notes later...
I had quite a long list. This was going to take a while. A week or so later I had watched 3 of the movies on the list and was reading 2 of the books on the list simultaneously. This had become a personal goal, and things were starting to get funny as I realized that my current reading combo was Gone with the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) and Looking for Alaska (John Green). I figured that this would be more fun if I shared it. Also, that made me accountable to other people.
I don't want to make a set goal like a date to finish the lists or a certain number of posts per week or anything like that. I'd rather just have this be a fun journey. If anyone wants to join me on this quest, please do! I'll post ahead of time what book or movie is next on the lists so you can read/watch along. Posts will probably contain spoilers, so beware of reading a certain post if you haven't read/watched it yet. I will also keep the lists updated. Feel free to send me any suggestions for additions.
